Last year we did a loft and a kitchen side return extension  on Elborough Street in Southfields. On Wednesday 12th March, we started another kitchen extension on the same street. This time, we are lowering the bottom floor and removing a couple of chimney breasts. It will create a more open plan living space with plenty of light. Note the public sewer pipe which we will have to carefully bridge over; we are moving the main manhole cover also so that it will continue to be accessible from the garden. It has taken us just under 2 weeks to fit the box frame, dig the foundations and build up the single skinned wall next to the party wall.
